Adoption and Spay/Neuter Policy
Kitty’s Kitten Rescue is committed to reducing the overpopulation of unwanted cats and ensuring the long-term health and well-being of all kittens adopted through our organization. This Spay/Neuter Policy outlines the requirements, fees, and procedures adopters must follow when adopting kittens from our rescue.
1. Adoption Fees
A. Kittens Already Spayed/Neutered and Vaccinated
- Female kittens: $120 (includes spay surgery + vaccinations)
- Male kittens: $100 (includes neuter surgery + vaccinations)
B. Kittens Not Yet Spayed/Neutered (Includes First Vaccinations)
- All kittens: $50 adoption fee
(Spay/Neuter requirements and costs are outlined below.)
- All kittens: $50 adoption fee
2. Spay/Neuter Requirements & Costs
A. Kittens Weighing 3lbs or More at Time of Adoption
These kittens are eligible for immediate spay/neuter.
- Adoption Fee: $50
- Surgery Cost:
- Males: $60
- Females: $80
- Surgery Cost:
- Total Due at Adoption: Adoption Fee + Surgery Cost
- Kitten Release: The kitten will be released to the adopter after surgery is completed.
- Surgery fees are paid upfront at the time of adoption application approval.
B. Kittens Weighing Under 3lbs at Time of Adoption
These kittens are not yet old or large enough for safe spay/neuter.
- Adoption Fee: $50
- Refundable Deposit:
- Males: $60
- Females: $80
- Total Due at Adoption: Adoption Fee + Refundable Deposit
- Kitten Release: The kitten may go home with the adopter once the adopter is approved and all required fees are paid.
- The Adopter must sign the Spay/Neuter Agreement acknowledging the obligation to have the kitten spayed/neutered at the appropriate age/weight.
3. Refundable Deposit Terms
- The deposit will be fully refunded to the Adopter once proof of spay/neuter is submitted to Kitty’s Kitten Rescue.
- Proof must include the kitten’s name or microchip number and the date of surgery.
- A refund will be issued within 14 business days of verification.
- Failure to have the kitten spayed or neutered within a reasonable time frame, or failure to provide proof, will result in forfeiture of the deposit and may result in reclaiming of the kitten by Kitty’s Kitten Rescue.
4. Failure to Comply
If the Adopter fails to obtain the required surgery or provide proof within the agreed timeframe, the Rescue reserves the right to:
- Retain the spay/neuter deposit
- Take legal steps to ensure compliance
- Reclaim the kitten without refund of any fees paid
